As part of my daughters birthday celebration we took a trip to the top of the Gateway Arch.  A image taken from the Gateway Arch of the westward expansion.

It's been awhile.

It's been quite a while since I last posted an image, I can give you a whole list of reasons why, but that won't  change fact.  So, I was motivated yesterday to take a walk in the park yesterday and I captured several interesting images at Sherman Beach County Park in St Louis County.  Sherman Beach is a favorite of mine it's just a short drive from home, and I can often train photos there also.

This is a composite of 5 images shot 2 stops apart @ F4.0.  I used Photomerge-exposure in Photoshop Elements 8 to combine the images.  Red and Blue channels have also been swapped.

Not the half submerged sand dredge.

 

After dropping off my daughter at school I headed to Sherman Beach County Park with the intentions of shooting some IR images in the early morning light of a half submerged sand dredge (map) on the southern bank of the Meramec River.  When the river is down you can walk out to the dredge without getting wet.  Today It was to long of a jump over way to deep, fast running, really cold water,  so I choose to snap the above photo instead.
